The board of directors of BancNet, Inc., the largest ATM consortium in the Philippines, recently elected Mr. Robert P. Blas as its new president.<\/p>\n

Mr. Blas takes over from Francisco M. Caparros, Jr. who recently retired from Asia United Bank and subsequently resigned as the bank\u2019s director in the BancNet board and as BancNet president. Mr. Blas will serve as president in the remaining term from February 1 to April 30, 2011.<\/p>\n

Concurrently, he also holds the following positions in BancNet: member of the Executive Committee, chairman of the Project Steering Committee, vice chairman of the Technical Committee and member of the Outsourcing Committee.<\/p>\n

Mr. Blas is vice president of Information Technology at Citibank and has represented the bank in BancNet\u2019s board of directors since 2001. He has been with BancNet\u2019s Technical Committee since 1991, also representing Citibank, and served as the committee\u2019s chairman for many terms.<\/p>\n
